Thank you all for the encouragement and support you all gave for the Eco Walk program for the past one year. These one year long series intends to enhance the awareness of things around and within man.
During the long one year we covered many aspects of environment and ecology which can be seen from the blog. Now with a little modification we will be continuing these Eco Walk Program. We would like to include the following issues for discussion:
1. Conservation and restoration of the environment
2. Environmental Stewardship and shared responsibility
3. Short- and long-term consequences
4. Waste management
5. Energy and resource management
6. Relationship of technology and innovation to the environment
AN APPEAL: We do not get any grant from any source. All these programs were conducted with the help of voluntary donations from individuals. For a sustained continuation of these programs we need support from all the participants. For conducting one programme with 50 participants we need a minimum of Rs.15,000 per event. Since the future of India depends on the younger generation we intent to include high school and college students – at least 15 in each event. We do not want to burden the students by charging them. We request the other participants to share the expense by contributing a minimum of Rs.250 per head per event at the venue.

How To Reach R. K. Mission?
Car Pooling (Please ensure pooling because it is all about conserving energy) .
Ideally it would be wise to go with Car pooling. In case car pooling is not possible one can use BMTC services.
- Take the Bannerghatta Road from the Bangalore City.
- Cross the Bannerghatta National Park – the road curves to the left at that place near the Bannerghatta Police Station.
- Proceed further towards Jigani Industrial township. Halfway, on the right handside you will see the Ramakrishna Mission, Shivanahalli hoarding. (You will also notice a Swamy Ayyappa temple hoarding).
- Take a right turn there and drive for about 10 kms. Do not take any side roads (rare and few) that you will come along.
- Travelling through the Bannerghatta National Park reserved forest, you will have to cross the Ragihalli village to come over to Shivanahalli.
